Ritu Beri is one of the few designers to have blurred the lines between East and West. She was the first Indian to conduct a fashion show in Paris & the first Asian to head a French fashion house, Jean Louis Scherr. She has been recognized for her work in design with several awards and honours, including the coveted French award, Chevaliere des art et des letters & the Spanish title of ‘The Lady of the Order of Civil Merit’. The long list of celebrities who have sported her label include Bill Clinton, Prince Charles, Madhuri Dixit and Katrina Kaif. In 2016 Ritu was appointed Advisor to the Khadi Village Industries Commission tasked with the aim of styling khadi as a luxury handmade fabric on a global scale. She is also the Founder of The Luxuy League, a non-profit venture promoting innovation and excellence in India’s luxury industry.
