Indian Classical Dancer, Choreographer and Bureaucrat
An Indian classical dancer, choreographer, scholar and bureaucrat, Dr Ananda Shankar Jayant – (Padmashri awardee) is known for her proficiency in the classical dance forms of Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi. She is the First woman officer of the Indian Railway Traffic Service of South Central Railway and her 2009 TED talk is ranked among the best TED talks on life after cancer. She is also a recipient of Sangeet Natak Akademi Award among others and is Artistic Director of the Shankarananda Kalakshetra arts academy in Hyderabad.
