Alpine Skier

Hailing from village Barua in Manali, 21 -year -old Anchal Thakur made history by winning India’s first-ever international medal in skiing in January this year. Anchal clinched the bronze in the coveted Alpine Ejder 3200 Cup organised by the Federation Internationale de Ski (FIS) — skiing’s international governing body — at the Palandoken Ski Centre in Erzurum in Turkey. She won the medal in the slalom race category. Largely trained by her father ,Anchal intends to pursue her passion by attracting more professional support​ for skiing.
